The Doctoral School of Humanities was established by Regulation No. 20 of the Rector of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University on April 24, 2019.

As of October 1, 2022, the Doctoral School of Humanities was transformed into the Doctoral School of Humanities and Art by the Order No. 86/2022 of the Rector of Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin, dated September 29, 2022.

The Doctoral School of  Humanities and Art educates young scholars in the following disciplines:

The Doctoral School of Humanities and Arts, a global hub of education, educates doctoral students in accordance with contemporary standards in the humanities and arts. The educational program, which corresponds to the 8th level of the Polish Qualification Framework, is designed to provide doctoral students with high research competence, allowing them to conduct research independently, define research problems, use modern techniques and tools in the research process, and communicate not only in the national but also in the international academic environment. The school equips doctoral students with the skills to effectively carry out individual research projects under the supervision of a research supervisor. In addition to developing their high research competence and self-reliance as future scientists, the School facilitates their cooperation with the social environment. It helps them gain additional qualifications that meet work requirements outside academia.
